How to earn from posting on LinkedIn part 1: Earn from Beehiv Boosts

LinkedIn has been the place to be for freelance writers for the past few years.

It’s teeming with business owners and marketing folks, many of whom go there to search for freelance writers.

With that being the case, it’s extremely helpful to optimize your profile and build a presence there.

But aside from posting for marketing and networking purposes, I’ve also stumbled across different ways to earn side income from it.

Today, I’m going to share one strategy with you that could be a good fit if you’re thinking about starting a newsletter (or already have one).

Here’s how it works:

  1. Start a Beehiv newsletter that aligns with some aspect of your content messaging. You’ll need a Scale plan to access the monetization features.

  2. Look for newsletters in Beehiv’s Boost program that would benefit your audience. Subscribe to them to see if they’re actually good. If they are, apply to Boost them.

  3. After getting approved, set the newsletter recommendations to pop up after people subscribe to your newsletter.

  4. Start earning up to $6.80 (but more often $1-$2) every time someone subscribes to one of your recommendations. Note, people can subscribe to multiple.

With this setup in place, every time you post on LinkedIn, you can earn when people want to hear more from you and subscribe to your newsletter —and it doesn’t involve them paying anything!

You post > they subscribe to your newsletter > they subscribe to other newsletters you recommend > you earn.

Plus, you’re getting paid to grow your newsletter, which can lead to many more income opportunities down the road.

I’ve been on Beehiv for about a year now and my platform earnings have always covered my fees and then some, so thought I’d share.

Full disclosure: As with most things, there is a risk. The Scale plan does come with a cost so this could end up costing you money if your LinkedIn posts don’t end up driving enough people to sign up.

BUT you can try it free for 30 days to see how it goes and then get 20% off for three months with our link.

Other FREE helpful stuff…

That’s a wrap!

I hope you found a good fit or two this week!

P.S. Have you landed a gig from this email? Reply and let me know! I’d love to hear what happened.

Reminder: If the gigs shared have posted rates, they must be above $100 per project, $25/per hour, or $0.10 per word. If you get offered less than that, please let me know. Also, gigs are vetted according to a variety of factors. For example, posters can’t ask for unpaid tests, require full-time employee hours, pay for “exposure,” or have a public history of not paying freelancers. If you encounter problems of any sort from a company shared here, please let me know and I’ll add them to my blacklist.
