New Grants to Fund Writing on Love
Extreme social division and polarization. An epidemic of loneliness. “Deaths of despair.” These are modern challenges in the United States. But one timeless virtue might help to address them all: Love. This initiative seeks to expand the concept of love beyond romantic relationships, emphasizing its role in fostering compassion, altruism, and social cohesion.
The Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) at UC Berkeley is offering two dozen grants of $5,000 to $50,000 to fund projects highlighting love’s power to foster connection and resilience. GGSC is interested in a range of media, including articles, videos, radio stories, podcasts, social media content, and more.
In addition to financial support, grantees are paired with scientific experts who serve as advisors to their projects, guiding them to relevant research on the science of love.
